N - - 1. Rev. Lipscomb Red and Yellow Basket Block with Marylou McDonald. Learn the tips, techniques and tricks to making this multi-piece Baltimore Album block -- this block is unique as the basket is woven with both red and yellow strips of fabric. The original quilt, made for Rev. Robert Lipscomb, is in the collection of the Lovely Lane Museum in Baltimore. If you have not previously purchased the Lovely Lane 25 block pattern set (block #14), you may purchase the pattern for $5 when you sign up for class (the money for these patterns goes directly to Lovely Lane for conservation). M B 5. A to Z Beginning Quilt Making with Ann Christy. Learn the basics of piecing, appliqué, and hand quilting. After class completion you should be able to tackle almost anything! N M - 7. Maryland State Butterfly: Baltimore Checkerspot with Maria O’Haver. This is one in a series of quilt blocks designed to celebrate the beautiful state of Maryland. The checkerspot is a spotted butterfly which is the state arthropod (insect). The background for the butterfly blocks is made using paper piecing techniques. Fused applique with fabric paints are used to make the butterfly. Thur: May 1: 6 - 9 p.m. $35.
 

- M - 8. Purse Full of Pockets with Didi Salvatierra. A Lazy Girl Designs pattern with some variations by Didi, this handy handbag is a must have! Very practical, with pockets to keep you organized. Sat: May 3: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. $30.
 

N - - 9. Morning Glory Wreath with Barbara Burnham. Welcome spring with a vintage block from Joyce Feucht’s “Joyce’s Garden” series. Learn to choose fabrics for a dimensional look, learn techniques for hand applique with freezer paper on top, learn tricks for skinny stems, split leaves, tiny pieces, reverse and layered applique. Eliminate background marking with foam core for basting and off-block assembly.. Sat: May 10, 17: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. $65 (includes $10 pattern fee).
 

- M - 10. Double Wedding Ring Quilt with Ann Christy. Have you always wanted to make a double wedding ring quilt? Join Ann to learn how to create this traditional-style quilt using John Flynn’s easier and faster techniques.. Mon: May 12, June 2, 9: 6 - 9 p.m. $55.
 

N M - 11. Mexican Star Quilt with Maria O’Haver. This unique wallhanging appears to have curved seams but doesn’t, really. Folded fabric squares sewn into the seams while constructing the block give a special three dimensional look to this quilt. Sat: May 17: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. $55.
 

- - B 12. Applique Every Which Way with Susan Grancio. This beginning level applique class will introduce many basic techniques in a short period of time. Working with a Rose of Sharon pattern provided by the instructor, students will try out different hand applique methods as they make a small block. Several fusible and machine applique techniques will also be demonstrated. Thur: June 5, 12, 19: 7 - 9 p.m. $55.
 

- - B 13. Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Hand Quilting with Didi Salvatierra. This is a process class which covers all aspects of hand quilting from choosing a design, marking and basting, to the stitching itself. Your finished handiwork will make a nice wall hanging or pillow top. Learn while doing, with lots of tips included. Sat: June 21: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. $40.
 

N M - 14. Insectimal: Stretch with Jane Clark. Stretch is a new addition to the Insectimal series of creatures. He is small in stature but can extend his neck to reach just about anything he wants ... and must chew his food extremely well. Here is a good opportunity for you to use the wild fabrics in your stash or to buy some new fat quarters. Applique constructed using Stable Magic and unit assembly methods. Come share some fabrics, create a unique character, and have fun! Sat: June 28: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. $62 (includes $7 pattern fee).

- - - 2. Come Back To Baltimore with Mimi Dietrich. Do you have some Baltimore album blocks but don’t know what to do with them to finish your quilt? This class is for you! Get those blocks out from under your bed and set some goals, finish your blocks, decide on arrangements and borders, and create your own special Baltimore quilt! This is a studio class -- work with an experienced, nurturing teacher in a supportive environment with a small group of fellow students. You need to be willing to share ideas, help each other make decisions, do some homework and work on your quilt! Sat: Jan 12, Feb 9, Mar 8, May 10 (SNOW DATE: June 14): 1 - 3 p.m. $70.

N - - 24. Come Stitch With Mimi with Mimi Dietrich. Bring your own project and enjoy a Sunday afternoon stitching with Mimi Dietrich. Ask questions, get advice, work on your project and enjoy the company of other applique quilters. Sun: Apr 6: 2 - 4 p.m. $20.
